On June 23, the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office was called to Brindi’s Night Club on Ashley Phosphate Road in No. Charleston, for a Strong Arm Robbery. A witness observed two black males assaulting two men. The robbers grabbed both victims’ wallet and fled the scene in an older white sedan. The victims told police they were asked for spare change while they were standing in the front parking lot. When they told them “no” the men became enraged and started assaulting them demanding all their money. The robbers got $1,000 in cash from one victim and $400 from the other as well as ID cards.
Hyper vigilance needed
On June 24 at 5 p.m., the victim reported to the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office, that while she was at the Oakbrook Post Office she had set her keys on the counter and while she turned away briefly to fill out some paperwork, someone stole her keys. A tow truck was called to take her vehicle home.
Do you know where your children are?
Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office was contacted with regard to a Blackmail/Extortion scheme. The victim received a phone call that his daughter had been kidnapped and would be killed unless the victim drove immediately to Publix on Trolley Road and wired $800 via Western Union to a Pedro Fernandez in Puerto Rico. He was told not to hang up the phone until the money was wired. The victim followed the instructions and wired the money. He then called his daughter to discover she was fine and knew nothing of the incident.
