Summerville DREAM would like to take this opportunity to thank the volunteers and sponsors who came out in support of Red, White and Blue on the Green, on Sunday, June 30th.
Dark skies threatened all day but at 3 p.m., when set-up began, the skies were blue and the sun was shining. Tents were set-up, games put in place and food vendors were ready for the crowds. Then the rain began. Volunteers and vendors stayed and made the best of a wet situation. There were lots of smiles, good-natured ribbing regarding responsibility for the rain, and an overall feeling of a community coming together. At 4:45 p.m. Red, White and Blue on the Green was officially cancelled. Clean up began and everyone, that wasn’t already, got soaked! Still, there were smiles, laughter and promises that everyone would be back next year.
Volunteers, sponsors and community support are the reasons Red, White and Blue on the Green continues to be such a loved event. We would like to thank those who proved their love of Summerville by getting soaked with us on Sunday: A Very Little Book Store, American Legion Post 21, DA Architect, East Shore Athletic Club, Eleanor Koets, Eyecare Eyeware, Fancy K9’s, First Citizens Bank, Friends of the Summerville Library, Health First, James Lopez, CPA, Judge Mary Blunt, Kool Katz Italian Ice, Leadership Dorchester, Liquid Box, Mike's Peanuts, Mr. K's Piggly Wiggly, Navy Federal Credit Union, Palmetto Flats, Palmetto Sun Kettle Corn, People Places & Quilts, Reagin Orthodontics, Shuco Enterprises, Sticky Fingers Smokehouse, Summerville Brook Community Church, Summerville Home Depot, The Ice House, The Little Gym, Tri-County Blue Star Mothers & Families, Knight Law Firm, Happily Ever After Jump Castles, Low Country Muscle Car Club, Diane Frankenberger, The Summerville Police Department and Cadets and the Town of Summerville Parks and Recreation Department.
