It is rare indeed to see an elected politician stand against much pressure from the other elected officials to save taxpayer money. The majority, including most of County Council, wanted to add thousands of dollars to increase a portion of the courthouse to accommodate the new circuit court judge.
Cheryl Graham, our Clerk of Court, rose to the occasion and saved we the taxpayers many dollars. She did the right thing for the citizens of Dorchester County. She neither bowed nor bent to her fellow politician’s wishes.
Thanks Cheryl. If all those who were elected were half as conscientious, our taxes would be lower.
