Dear Mrs. Watts,
I am writing to tell you of a great man. MSgt. George Winkle who has just retired from Ashley Ridge High School as an AFJROTC Instructor. This man came to school every day in a clean uniform and a smile on his face. He taught students how to wear uniforms and how to iron them, if necessary, to be presentable. He taught them how to march; how to stand; how to construct themselves in a proper manner. Every day, this man set an example to students. When they were down, he taught them that this was the day to make a change. He not only taught them the strength they had but showed them how to reach their own potential. This was not an ordinary man. He was extraordinary because he taught his students to look within themselves to find the person who they wanted to be. How many lives has he touched? He is a good husband, a good father and a good citizen. How far can that type of person reach? I can only say that I feel privileged to have known such a man. Good luck on your retirement. You truly deserve the best in life! Thank you for all you have given and to your wife for standing by you all the way!
