Russell Kitch, MD

  • Wednesday, July 17, 2013

As an otolaryngologist, Dr. Russell Kitch specializes in ear, nose and throat issues. “I like the diversity both in the range of medical and surgical treatments and in being able to work with patients of all ages,” he says. “I’ve seen patients from newborns to a man who was 117. He was one of the two oldest people in the world at the time.” Dr. Kitch leads the caring staff at Low Country ENT, located by Trident Medical Center, and he has been treating patients in the Charleston area since 1991. “Most of the children that we see are for recurrent ear infections and recurrent tonsillitis, and they are readily treatable in most cases.” An audiologist on staff also provides hearing aids. His other interests include sinus and rhinitis issues as well as hearing and balance problems such as recurrent vertigo, which can often be resolved with a non-surgical procedure that only takes a few minutes. “We also see a fair number of head and neck cancers, which thankfully are very curable if caught early.” Dr. Kitch is board-certified in otolaryngology, head and neck surgery as well as sleep medicine.
