Thursday Night Lights returns

Thursday Night Lights will open its 2013 season with the second-ever meeting between the Cane Bay Cobras and the Summerville Green Wave. FILE

At least three local high school football games will be broadcast on live television this Fall.
MyTVCharleston is gearing up for its fourth season of Thursday Night Lights, a show that broadcasts high school football games at 7:30 Thursday evenings in the Fall.
The show’s season will kick off Aug. 29 with Summerville hosting Cane Bay at Memorial Stadium. Games involving two other Summerville-area teams have also been moved to Thursday so fans in the Lowcountry can view them from their living room.
Ashley Ridge will play a televised game against Beaufort Oct. 24 and also play under the eye of the camera on Nov. 7 when it hosts Fort Dorchester. That night will mark the 2013 season finale of Thursday Night Lights.
The program has left two dates on its calendar vacant so there is a chance Summerville-area teams could move games scheduled for Sept. 20 to Sept. 19 or games scheduled for Oct. 18 to Oct. 17 for broadcast. Games scheduled for the week of Sept. 19 included Fort Dorchester at Goose Creek, Ashley Ridge at Stratford and Summerville at Wando. Games scheduled for the Week of Oct. 17 include Summerville against Beaufort, Pinewood Prep against Laurence Manning, Ashley Ridge at Bluffton and Fort Dorchester at Colleton County.
