Dr. James T. Martin, Jr., Obstetrics & Gynecology, Physician, has been in practice for over 30 years. He and his wife Jan have been actively involved with the Scrumptious Summerville Kitchen Tour and Children In Crisis for many years. Dr. Martin served on the Board of Directors of the Dorchester Children’s Center from 2005-2008 and for the past two years; his medical office has also supported DCCs seasonal fundraising drives with donations of new toys and funds for the Center’s Christmas Program and the Back to School Supply Program. Dr. Martin and Jan stated that “Children are near and dear to our hearts and that we feel this cause is so desperately needed for our children and families who are victims of abuse and neglect.” “Children are our future and we truly feel if you believe in a cause you need to stand behind it.” Dr. Martin and Jan have been annual sponsors of the Scrumptious Summerville Kitchen Tour and Jan has held several roles including Kitchen Tour Chair.
“We truly appreciate all of the support the Martins have given to the Dorchester Children’s Center” said Executive Director Dr. Kay Phillips. “We could not provide the level of services at the Children’s Center if it were not for such generous support from our community,” she added.
