Summerville Music Club to Kick-Off year with piano concert

Summerville Music Club will meet on Thursday September 26 at St Luke’s Lutheran Church, 206 Central Avenue at 7:00pm.  Winnie Liza Abo-Abo Rodriquez, a daughter of Carlos and Wennie Rodriquez of Seabrook, SC will present a classical concert.  Wennie, a nine year old, is a student of the South Carolina Connections Academy.  Her academic excellence has elevated her to the seventh grade this school year.  Wennie began studying piano at four and one half years of age.  She has performed in many venues.  Some of these performances include The Palmetto Theatre in Hampton, SC, Parris Island, SC; during the Asian Pacific Month for two years and Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center in Columbia, SC for their SCCA Winter Arts Festival for two different engagements. Wennie has attended and performed for two Piano Masterclasses under Dr. Matthew Manwarren in Myrtle Beach, SC and Dr John O'Connor at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC.
The Beaufort Gazette newspaper referred to Wennie as a six year old piano prodigy in 2010. During the same year, Wennie was introduced as a piano prodigy for her performance at The Palmetto Theatre. In 2012, a Judge for The National Federation of Music Clubs also referred to Wennie as a piano prodigy. 
Wennie is studying piano under Mrs. Jacquie Jones of Summerville, South Carolina.
