Swim teams from Fort Dorchester and Summerville competed in the sixth annual Swimmin in da Crick meet at Crowfield Pool on Saturday.
The Patriots’ boys had the highest finish, placing third behind champion Wando (256) and runner-up Spartanburg (203). Fort Dorchester had 182 points.
Summerville’s boys were sixth with 91 points.
In the girls meet, Wando dominated with 301 points. Summerville’s girls were fifth with 101 points, followed by the Lady Patriots in sixth.
The individual highlight of the meet was turned in by Summerville’s Meredith Welsh.
Welsh set a meet record in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:10.70. The performance bested the old mark of 1:10.73 set by Ashley Ridge swimmer Micah Bohon in 2011.
Other notable finishes were turned in by Lady Wave swimmer Sarah Anne Welsh (100 backstroke, second), Fort Dorchester’s Ballard DeHaven (200 freestyle, second) and The Patriots’ 200-yard freestyle relay team (second).
