Monday, September16, 10:30 a.m. – Fitness Fun: Join us for various types of seated exercise such as Salsa, Tai Chi, Chair Dancing, Boxing, and more.  You may stay seated or get up and move- let’s get fit and have fun!  
Tuesday, September 17, 7 p.m. – Tuesday night line dancing: 7 to 8 p.m. (You do not have to be an H2U member to join this class, but you must be 50 years or older and a member of the senior center to participate. Cost is $4 per class.
Wednesday, September 18, 9 a.m. – Weight training: Designed to improve muscle strength and bone density, this class will help tone your body.  Bring a towel, mat, and a pair of three-pound weights. Instructor: Ronna Toombs. Mondays and Wednesdays  (No class September 23 or 30.)
Thursday, September 19, 10 a.m. – Nutrition series: Jean Muller is a Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist recently retired from Summerville Medical Center.  She will be teaching monthly classes on eating to stay healthy.  This month she will discuss “Preventing and Controlling Diabetes”.  She will cover what is pre-diabetes, what causes it, how to prevent diabetes and how to eat to control blood sugars if you have diabetes.
Friday, September 20, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. – AARP Defensive Driving class: To be eligible for this class you must be at least 50, but you do not have to be a member of AARP. Companies offering automobile insurance in South Carolina must give a discount to drivers over are 55 that do not use their cars to go to work and have no male drivers under 25 in their households. Discounts from 2 to 10 percent are given to drivers over 25 who take a defensive driving course such as this one.  This discount is good for three years and may be renewed by taking this course again.  $12 for AARP members, $14 for non-AARP members.
 
Turkey Shoot Time
Yes Folks, as the weather turns cooler, (we hope), it that time of year again for the American Legion Post 166’s “GREAT AMERICAN TURKEY SHOOT”.  Our Turkey Shoot will start on Friday September 20th at 7PM and will run Wednesday though Saturday all the way to November 27th, Thanks Giving Eve, and the public is invited to attend. For the youngsters, twelve (12) years of age and under, we have a JUNIOR SHOOT every on Saturday at 5PM, starting October 5th, (If there is enough participation) under the watch full eyes of our skilled range masters.
The Post provides all equipment you need but you may bring your own shotgun if you so desire.
American Legion Post 166 offers a very family atmosphere in a secure environment, where friends and families can get together around the bon fire and enjoy themselves and the canteen will be open offering both food and beverages.
Please NO OUTSIDE BEVERAGES ALLOWED.
All proceeds raised during the American Legion Turkey Shoots go toward our many community programs that we are known for.
