Taryn Floyd, PE Teacher at WHAIES, organized a Gold Out Day for faculty and staff, encouraging everyone to wear as much gold as possible to support Chase After a Cure, raising awareness for childhood cancer. The winning class receives a gift from Mrs. Floyd and that class this year was 4B. Ms. Samantha Ellenburg told her class, that her younger brother, Jackson Ellenburg, is also a childhood cancer survivor, having been diagnosed three years ago with Burkitt’s Lymphoma.
