On September 20, arrest warrants were issued for Thomas Scott Mcfadden, Jr., 21, of W. Carolina Ave., Summerville – one for murder and another for attempted murder with regard to a shooting and murder that occurred at 8484 Dorchester Road, N. Charleston, SC on the morning of September 13.
Mcfadden was located by Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office detectives and the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office in the West Ashley area and arrested on September 23.
He had a bond hearing on September 23 and his bond was denied on both charges.
Mcfadden was involved in a gunfight, according to the warrant affidavit, and willfully and feloniously exchanged numerous shots – with malice aforethought – one of which killed Rashaad Banks and wounded Markice Lawrence.
“This is an active murder investigation,” said PIO and Chief Deputy Sam Richardson. “There may be arrests of additional suspects as the case progresses.”
