DD2 shares look at new schools

Dorchester District Two Capital Improvements Director Robert Folkman shared a look at what the new Rollings Middle School of the Arts/Elementary School #2 might look like with the Board of Trustees Monday night.
Set in East Edisto, the schools are located at the end of the new sub-division at the intersection of Summers Drive and Highway 61.
He informed the board that overall, the Capital Improvements Program (bond referendum) is currently 1 percent complete in actual costs and 4.6 percent complete in committed costs.
Folkman highlighted some of the work completed to date.
Elementary School # at Pine Trace:
Capital Improvement staff continues addressing SCDOT’s recommendations regarding site access and Geotech’s recommendations regarding soil conditions.Capital Improvement staff continues addressing due diligence issues with wet lands for the Option 3 Boulevard and is coordinating with local jurisdictions.Rollings Middle/ES #2:

Site survey and geotech commenced at ARHS and SHS.Alston Middle:

As requested by the Oversight Committee site access safety and site traffic safety will be addressed for all projects included in the 2012 Bond Referendum.
