  • Wednesday, October 30, 2013

Provided Meredith Reed, left, and Carter McCoy work on engineering a bridge with the help of Cadet Pierre Neal.

Professors and cadets from the Engineering Department of the Citadel presented an informational program on becoming an engineer to Spann fourth graders Wednesday, Oct. 23.

The professors explained their areas of engineering and the cadets answered questions from the students about why they want to be an engineer, subjects to focus on in school and what cadet life is like. After concluding the assembly, the professors and cadets went back into the classroom and assisted the students in building a bridge using structural engineering principles.
