AR youth wrestling

Tech-Fall Wrestling Ashley Ridge will have registration for its youth wrestling program from 6-8 p.m. in the mini-gym Nov. 11-13. Registration for the season is $75 for first wrestler and $50 per sibling. Price includes t-shirt and quality coaching. Basketball and

cheer registration

Cathedral Sports located off Ashley Phosphate road in North Charleston is hosting youth basketball and cheerleading. Registration is being held for boys and girls age 4 to 12 through Nov 18. Registration is $65, which includes shirt and shorts. Practices begin in December and games start in January and run through March. Harvest Banquet

The Berkeley Chapter of Ducks Unlimited is hosting the Fall Harvest Banquet Nov. 2 at the Berkeley Shrine Club on the shores of Lake Moultrie. Doors open to the public at 6 p.m. A revamped line-up of this year’s Ducks Unlimited merchandise, unique auction and raffle items and plenty of firearms will be offered. Tickets can be purchased by contacting Jay Shreve at 860-4976 or Robert Blackwell at 697-2400. Prices are $60 for single tickets and $75 for couples tickets. All tickets include a fully catered dinner by Outback Steakhouse and open bar. Revamped sponsorship packages are available that include VIP group seating, sponsor’s-only bar, early 5 p.m. admission for auction preview and a new sponsor’s-only early raffle. Green Wave hoops

The Summerville High School Boys Basketball team will have try-outs Nov. 4-7. Varsity try-outs begin Nov. 4 from 3-4:30 p.m. in the main gym. B-Team/JV tryouts begin Nov. 4 from 5:30-7 p.m. in the mini gym. You must have a current physical on file to try-out. Takedown Club

The Summerville Takedown Club will hold registration from 6-7:30 p.m. Nov. 5-7 outside the SHS mini gym. Cost of registration is $75. If a family has more than one child that will register, it will be $50 for the second child. Practice will begin Nov. 12. Nephcure Run

The fourth annual Nephcure 5K run/walk is scheduled for 9 a.m. Nov. 3 at Wescott Plantation. The race is designed to help raise kidney disease awareness. Proceeds go to kidney disease research at MUSC and the NephCure Foundation. Adult registration is $25 or $35 for those wanting breakfast and one-mile fun run registration is $10 or $15 with breakfast. Visit www.sekdc.org/Neph2013 to register or for more information.

SSC volunteers

The Summerville Soccer Club needs parents of players to sign up for volunteer days. There is a schedule posted on the website (www.summervillesoccerclub.com/Volunteer/index_E.html ) for Game Days, Picture Day and Year-End Jamboree. The club needs volunteers for each. Contact volunteer coordinator Mary Rita Watson (maryritawat@yahoo.com) to schedule a time slot. There are also volunteer opportunities for the concession stand.
