  • Wednesday, November 20, 2013

On Nov. 4, around midnight, deputies responded to a residence on Church St., in Ridgeville to an anonymous call reporting a shooting. Dorchester County deputies made contact with the victim at the intersection of Church St., and Hwy 27. The victim appeared to have a gunshot wound to the inner thigh near his genitals.

He told police that he was shot at his residence and had walked down the street. EMS responded and he was transported to MUSC. While being loaded into the ambulance, he told deputies he had been sleeping in his bedroom when a black male forced entry into his residence and fired multiple shots at him.

He said he did not know who the man was and was unable to give a description. EMS advised deputies that he victim had, in fact, sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

Deputies executed a protective sweep of the residence but found no sign of forced entry. The scene was turned over to the investigative unit.
