North Charleston Rec. gears up for baseball, softball

The North Charleston Recreation Departments has opened baseball and softball registration and is seeking team sponsors.

Registration for 2014 youth baseball and softball programs will run the month of January. The baseball program is for youth ages 4-14 as of April 30, 2014 and the softball program is for youth ages 4-15 as of December 31, 2013. Registration cost is $30 for residents and $60 for non-residents.

Due to city holidays no registrations will be taken on Jan. 1 or Jan. 20. Check or money orders will be accepted and birth certificates are required at the time of registration. Registration can be done online at www.northcharleston.org and will also be taken at Northwoods Gym (572-5410), Wescott Park (767-0782), River Oaks Middle School Gym (695-2478), Armory Park (745-1032), Accabee Community Center (308-4735), Gethsemani Community Center (308-4733), Jeanene Batten Community Center (308-4731) and Park Circle (745-1028). With the baseball and softball season just around the corner, recreation department officials are looking for team sponsors. There are various levels of sponsorships starting at $250. The sponsors name goes on their team’s shirts and the sponsor is invited to attend an appreciation banquet in October that includes all of our athletic volunteers and team sponsors.
