Pye named State Superintendent of the Year

Dorchester District 2 Superintendent Joe Pye was named South Carolina Superintendent of the Year by S.C. Association of School Administrators on May 5.
Pye has dedicated his life to education and has served in Dorchester District Two for the past 32 years.  Prior to his current role as superintendent, he served as district personnel director and principal of Flowertown Elementary. Under his leadership, three Dorchester Two schools have been named Carolina First Palmetto’s Finest and the Annual School Report Card rating has improved overall to “Good.”
Pye will compete for the National Superintendent of the Year award sponsored by the American Association of School Administrator.
