Panthers win three in a row

  • Tuesday, October 9, 2012

The Lady Panthers tennis team closed out the month of September by picking up three key wins.
Pinewood defeated Charleston Collegiate 7-2.  Hayleigh Dodge, Emilee Martichenko, Victoria Caldentey, Hannah Rodgers and Abbey Martichenko picked up Panther wins in singles play. Then the Pinewood teams of Emilee Martichenko and Dodge and Abbey Martichenko and Rodgers won in doubles play.
The Panthers followed that up by winning back-to-back matches, defeating Hilton Head Christinan 7-1 Sept. 28 and 6-2 the following day.
“We had a good weekend at Hilton Head Christian,” Panther coach Bryant McKee said. “The Eagles are much improved and we had matches that were much closer than the score indicated.  We won all 12 singles matches and all of them were close. The girls were tough minded in their play.”
