Pinewood Preparatory School’s Middle School Math Team delivered an impressive performance at the 2012-13 South Carolina Independent School Association (SCISA) Middle School Math Competition held at the Sumter Civic Center last week. Out of approximately 175 students competing, Pinewood students claimed three of the top six spots at the competition. Garrett Smith (right) ranked sixth overall; Krish Patel (left) ranked fourth overall; and Paul Cho (center) claimed “First in State” among all SCISA Division I schools. All three received medals, and Cho took home the First Place trophy.
Out of 35 teams competing, Pinewood’s teams ranked seventh and tenth overall. Team members include Garrett Smith, Paul Cho, Jake Jaskwhich, Stefan Olaru, Kevin Mazalatis, Krish Patel, Colin Baker, Ben DeLillo, Haley Welch and faculty members Lisa Enslin and Megan Hritz.
