Bach To Broadway

  • Tuesday, November 6, 2012

Dear Editor,

The Summerville Community Orchestra presented a rousing concert October 26, at the Summerville Baptist Church.  The audience was enrapt by the performance.
Alexandr Dzyubinsky and Allen Hendricks, Concertmaster, performed the most beautiful and emotional of violin pieces.
James Solomon led the Cellists who complimented the pieces with such warmth. The percussionists were challenged to play a variety of instruments, all beautifully executed.
The Salute to Big Bands was also so enjoyable; we loved the touch of swing.
The concert presented an array of beautiful works by outstanding composers. Alexander Agrest, Music Director, deserves a special thank you. He conducted with such grace and is always a joy to watch, as his energy is unlimited. A standing ovation was indeed warranted.
Thank you to the Summerville Community Orchestra! You provided the community such a beautiful experience.
