Carey Ellen Walker, 58, wife of John Walker, of Summerville, SC, died Friday, January 4, 2013 at Roper Hospital.
Funeral services were held at Bethany United Methodist Church- Spell Chapel on Monday, January 7, 2013 at 11 o’clock. Burial was held in Summerville Cemetery. Friends called at Parks Funeral Home Sunday evening from 5 – 8 o’clock. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ashley Ridge Church, PO Box 51846, Summerville, SC 29485, or to Mayo Clinic, www.mayoclinic.orgdevelopment, Other Designations, Renal Cell Carcinoma Research.
Carey Ellen was born February 19, 1954 in Summerville, SC, a daughter of the late Fred Arthur Blevins and the late Esther Bolen Blevins. She was a retired High School Guidance Counselor. Carey Ellen was a member of Ashley Ridge Church, and a former member of Tri County Counseling Association (TCCA).
Survivors include her loving husband, John Walker of Summerville; one son, Andrew Walker and one daughter, Ellen Clemmons, both of Summerville; one sister, Claire Sieber of Summerville; daughter-in-law, Millicent Walker of Anderson, SC; son-in-law, Bryan Clemmons of Goose Creek; stepmother, Perlita Blevins, and a stepsister, Lizalyn Wilson, both of Athens, GA.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Greg Blevins.
