The new year has brought honors for Summerville Medical Center. The 94-bed hospital was voted best hospital and best urgent care/emergency facility in January by Summerville residents the Summerville Journal Scene's first annual Reader's Choice Awards survey. The Reader's Choice survey asked readers for their favorite selections in Dining, Goods and Services, Medical Services, Professional services, Pets, Recreation, Shopping and Other Favorites. Winners were recognized in the January 7 issue of the Summerville Journal Scene, were given the opportunity to use The Summerville Journal Scene's “Voted Best” logo in advertising and will receive special certificates to display in their facilities. “We appreciate and value the opportunity to be the BEST health care provider for the Summerville/Dorchester County citizens and I hope that we will always be the first choice for any future health care needs they or their family may require,” said PJ Johnson, Chief Executive Officer of Summerville Medical Center. The results of the survey can be viewed on the Summerville Journal Scene's web site, http://www.journalscene.com/readerschoice.
