Communities in Schools is a dropout prevention program that provides sixth through eighth grade students with after-school support, counseling, mentoring, homework assistance, and tutoring. The Rotary Club of Summerville meets each Wed. at 12:30 pm at Holiday Inn Express-Summerville.
Paul Heinauer (right), representing the Red Cross, presented Al Bradham from Carpet Care Services and DisasterCare with a plaque on July 25 in appreciate for DisasterCare’s donation to help fire victims. DisasterCare itself suffered a devastating fire in October of 2010. Bradham kept the business open and thriving despite the complete loss of the building itself. He has since provided monetary relief to others suffering a fire such as his by donating to the Heroes for Fire Victims’ program.
Paul Heinauer, representing the Red Cross, presented the Rotary Club of Summerville with a plaque at its July 25 meeting in thanks for its support of its Heroes for Fire Victims program. The club made a donation of $2,500 to help two families of four that had suffered devastating fires.
