  • Monday, January 14, 2013

Passersby have enjoyed the beautiful and well-tended rose garden, which stretches down North Main Street on a lot bordered by E. 9th Street, for nearly thirty years. But alas, all things must pass. The owners and caretakers of those roses, Fred Weathers, and his wife Mae recently made the decision to remove the roses this year. According to a letter they wrote to the community, the decision was not made lightly and the Weathers’ say they have enjoyed tending the roses and hope that everyone enjoyed them during their daily travels on Main Street. The rose bushes will be removed and will not be given away, they said.
