Four students from Newington Elementary School have been choses to
be part of the 2012 South Carolina Elementary Honors Choir. The choir
is made up of approximately 200 of the best singers from throughout
the state. The singers were chosen by recorded auditions. Honors choir
students must learn and memorize the repertoire of seven songs before
they report for rehearsals on February 7th and 8th at the Sheraton Inn
in North Charleston. The director of this prestigious choir will be Dr.
Rollo Dilworth, a well-known composer and arranger of choral music.
These students will perform in concert at the North Charleston
Performing Arts Center on February 9th.
