Evans, Georgia—Graveside Services for Mrs. Sarah Jackson Smith, 79, of Brandon Wilde, Evans, Georgia, who entered into rest December 27, 2012, were conducted Tuesday afternoon, January 1, 2013 in Pineview Memorial Park, Rev. Greg Porterfield officiating.
Mrs. Smith was a native of Kings Mountain, North Carolina, a former resident of Kinston, North Carolina and Summerville, South Carolina. She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church of Summerville and attended Wesley United Methodist Church. Mrs. Smith, while living in Summerville, volunteered with Meals on Wheels, HELP of Summerville and mentored elementary students. She also volunteered with Reach to Recovery.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Edwin B. Smith; two daughters and a son-in-law, Andrea Usry, North Augusta and Roslyn and Jody Burttram, Windermere, Florida; three grandchildren, Graham Fletcher, Morgan Fletcher and Jackson Burttram; two brothers, Robert Jackson, Denton, Texas and Harold Jackson, Spartanburg, South Carolina; two sisters, Mildred Davenport, Arden, North Carolina and Margaret Woodcock, Raleigh, North Carolina.
The family received friends at the Graveside following the service.
