Robert Leon Crosby, 67, husband of Susan Sweat Crosby of Summerville, SC, died Monday, December 24, 2012 at his home surrounded by family.
Funeral services will be held at Heritage Holiness Church on Friday afternoon, December 28, 2012 at 1 o’clock. Burial will be in Summerville Cemetery. The family received friends at Heritage Holiness Church Thursday evening from 6 – 8 o’clock. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Heritage Holiness Church, 3836 Ladson Road, Ladson, SC 29456.
Mr. Crosby was born December 2, 1945 in Ridgeville, SC, a son of Ivy Lovett Crosby and Eula Lee Oglesby Crosby. He graduated from Summerville High School where he played football under Coach McKissick. He was an avid outdoorsman, gardener and also was a Carolina Gamecocks fan. He was a retired millwright and heavy equipment operator. He was a Deacon at Heritage Holiness Church where he also played the guitar and sang in the church choir. He was a member of the US Army National Guard. Robert was a loving father and grandfather.
Survivors include his loving wife, Susan Sweat Crosby of Summerville; one daughter, Robin C. Petty of Summerville; one son, Douglas E. Crosby (Cynthia) of Summerville; one sister, Faye C. Lipham; two brothers, Edward I. Crosby, Donald E. Crosby (Enid), all of Summerville; and four grandchildren, Jordan Petty, Anna Grace Crosby, Micah Crosby, and A’Lee Crosby.
