Lady Green Wave rolls in rematch with Berkeley

Gabrielle Stewart grabs a rebound for Summerville.

For the second time this season, the Berkeley girls presented little challenge for Summerville.
The Lady Green Wave basketball team earned a 49-20 victory at home over the Lady Stags Friday to improve to 4-0 on the season. Berkeley dropped to 0-4 with the loss in the non-region contest.
Summerville only yielded a single point in the opening period and five in the second as the Wave jumped out to a 21-6 halftime lead. Summerville then posted 14 points in both the third and fourth periods.
The team was led by Ashley Green, who scored 10 points, and Zuri Green, who scored 9. Tinara Brown added 7 and Rodnesha Capers 6.
Bria Liperidge and Priscilla Washington both posted 5 points to lead Berkeley.
The Wave traveled to Wando Tuesday after press time for a rematch and will host another rematch with Military Magnet at 7 p.m. Friday.
