Lady Green Wave rolls past Bobcats

 The Summerville girls defeated Bluffton 47-25 Tuesday to notch their third straight region win.
The Lady Green Wave improved to 12-5 on the season with a 3-0 mark in Region 8-AAAA with two key match ups on the horizon.
“The game was another chance for us to get better as a team and we took advantage of it,” Summerville forward Zuri Green said.
Summerville travels to Ashley Ridge (7-5, 3-0) Jan. 18 and then wraps up the first half of its region schedule Jan. 22 by hosting Fort Dorchester.
The Lady Green Wave received four points from Green and six from Heather Chapman in the opening period to claim a 10-5 lead. Summerville closed the next period with a jumper from JaKaylah Ravenell and two jumpers from Rodnesha Capers to take a 19-9 lead into the half. Capers second basket, a three-pointer coming two seconds before the buzzer, gave Summerville a big momentum boost.
Junior Kwanza Murray took over the game in the third period, posting 14 of her game-high 16 points and making two steals in the period. Summerville also had two buckets from Green in the period with the first coming from behind the arc.
Bluffton (3-9, 0-3) scored 11 points in the final period, but Summerville matched that to secure the victory. The Lady Wave scoring was spread around in the final eight minutes.
Green finished the game with 12 points while Chapman finished with six and Capers with five.
