Dorchester Habitat for Humanity kicked off its 20th Year Anniversary by raising the walls of its 46th Habitat Home!
Charleston Southern University cheerleaders, softball team, and volleyball team volunteered on the construction site on a very cold Saturday morning. Volunteers contribute approximately 2000 construction hours to the building of each Habitat Home. Board and Staff Members, along with long-time volunteers, welcomed the Charleston Southern University students early Saturday morning for a special blessing of this Habitat
Home and Tammy Kenley, the partner family for this build. Tammy will work over 60 sweat-equity hours on her own Home that will be included in the total of over 425 sweat-equity she is required to work. Once the Habitat Home is complete, Tammy will purchase the Home from Dorchester Habitat for Humanity and pay Dorchester Habitat for Humanity an interest-free 20 year mortgage.

Although the construction of Tammy's Habitat Home began on a very cold morning, everyone present was warmed by the hearts and hands that came together to kick off this special Build for Tammy and Dorchester Habitat for Humanity.
