Go Red comes to town

 Heart disease survivors are spending the month of February participating in various activities designed to raise awareness to the dangers of heart disease, the top killer of women. Survivors Cynthia Putman and Gay Prosser brought the Go Red for Women movement to Summerville this year, asking local businesses to decorate their storefronts for the cause. In addition, some of the businesses are offering fact sheets, healthy snacks and special discounts to customers. On Feb. 1, the 10th annual National Wear Red Day, Prosser and Putman presented a gift basket to In High Cotton for having the top launch for its Go Red campaign.
