Following the reining, Pinewood was tied for second place, but fell to third in a tiebreaker.
Guertin placed first in both horsemanship and reining which earned her the Varsity High Point Open Rider Award for the morning competition.
In the Afternoon competition, Aurie Engel Schmieding, Givens and Soyka had strong Horsemanship rides and Pinewood led going into reining. Pinewood Seniors Ali Clynes Schmieding and Guertin put in strong reining rides and the team came away with the win for the afternoon.

The Pinewood Western Team has now qualified for the Zone 4 Finals to be held April 6-7 in Braselton, Ga.
The team will also compete during the SCISA State Championship Equestrian Meet to be held in Sumter on March 9.
