The Miss Charleston/Miss Summerville Scholarship Pageant committee crowned its 2013 titleholders on February 2 in front of an audience of several hundred and a judges’ panel that included a local news reporter and a cast member of “Army Wives.”
Miss Charleston 2013 is Nicki Bratcher, a student at Coastal Carolina University. Bratcher’s platform is Human Trafficking Awareness and she performed a contemporary Christian vocal for her talent selection.
Miss Charleston Teen 2013 is Caroline Scruggs. Scruggs’ platform is “Love is Louder” and she performed a Broadway vocal for her talent selection.
Miss Summerville 2013 is Catherine Fox, a student at Charleston Southern University. Her platform is Mentoring and she performed a piano solo for her talent selection. Fox also won the Lifestyle and Fitness in Swimsuit award.
Miss Summerville Teen 2013 is Sarah Beth Kreidler. Her platform is Autism Awareness and she performed a contemporary tap piece for her talent selection. Kreidler also won the Teen Evening Wear award.
The 2013 titleholders will be supporting their platforms and volunteering their time at numerous events and with various community organizations during their year of service. To schedule any of the titleholders or for more information, contact MissChasSvilleOrg@gmail.com.
All four titleholders will compete at the Miss South Carolina and Miss South Carolina Teen pageants in Columbia this July. The winners of the Miss South Carolina and Miss South Carolina Teen pageants will compete at Miss America and Miss America’s Outstanding Teen.
The Miss Charleston/Summerville Pageant is a volunteer-run organization that promotes service, style, scholarship and success in young women in the Lowcountry while also providing financial assistance for higher education.
