Fort equestrian advances to Zone 4 Finals

Fort Dorchester High School senior Addie Ledbetter placed second in the Individual JV Novice Fences class and fourth in the Individual Varsity Intermediate Flat class (walk, trot, canter) during the Interscholastic Equestrian Association Region 8 Finals held Feb. 25 at Evermore Farm in Brooklet.
The second-place finish qualified Ledbetter for the IEA Zone 4 Finals that will take place in late March at the Florida Horse Park located in Ocala, Fla. There, she will compete against equestrians from 232 teams representing Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama and Tennessee.
Ledbetter is in her third year of riding with the IEA Storybook Farm High School Team, hosted by the home farm for the College of Charleston Equestrian Team. The Storybook Team won both the high school and middle school team championships at the Region 8 finals. Region 8 is made up teams from South Carolina and southern Georgia.
Ledbetter is coached by Alicia Story and has been riding since the age of six and competing in equestrian events since she was 7-years-old.
