Suspicious activity…
A Summerville man reported that he was walking from his home on Crestview Drive to a gas station on Trolley Road to get a pack of cigarettes when a silver SUV pulled up near him. He said three black males were in the vehicle, one started to ask him something, then another in the back seat opened the door, pointed a handgun at him, and ordered him to get into the vehicle, which he did.
The complainant said they began driving toward Miles Road and they demanded his money and began searching him. They drove down I-26 and by the time they finished searching him, finding only three dollars, they had arrived in West Ashley at Farmview Road. They ordered him out of the vehicle, took his three dollars, and left.
The man said the subjects did not take his wallet or keys, nor did they find five dollars he had stuffed in his shoe which he used to buy a shot of liquor at Andolini’s Pizza before calling his wife to come pick him up. He said he would prosecute but admitted he probably could not identify the subjects, other than to say they were young black males.
More suspicious activity…
Officers responded to a call in the Lakes of Summerville from a female caller who reported hearing something in her residence.
She reported that she was upstairs in her bedroom when she heard her house alarm go off. She went downstairs to check the front door and that’s when she saw the doorknob twist, as though someone were trying to open the door.
The complainant said she called the police and then went back upstairs and looked out the bathroom window, and that’s when she saw an unknown white male subject, abut 5’6” tall and wearing a black hat standing at the door. She said the subject ran away as the police were arriving.
Officers cleared the home and the immediate area. They could find no signs of forced entry.
