Museum plant sale fundraiser March 16

 
The Summerville Dorchester Museum will hold its annual Historic Plant Sale in the Museum’s Courtyard on Sat., March 16 from 8 am to noon. A wide selection of healthy, beautiful plants that grow well in the Lowcountry will be offered. Cash or checks only. Call 843-875-9666 for more information. Faith Sellers Senior Center events

 Mexican Dominoes- also known as Trains. Barbara Fitzgerald teaches this version of dominoes on Mondays. If you have a set a Mexican Dominoes set, please bring them. New members welcome! Monday, March 18, 1-3 p.m.
 
Tuesday Night Line Dancing: You do not have to be an H2U member to join this class, but you must be 50 yrs. or older & a member of the senior center to participate in this class. Cost is $4 per class. Tuesday, March 19, 7-8 p.m.
 
Clogging: Put on your dancing shoes & join us as Instructor Julia Tourtellotte teaches beginner level clogging, no cost. Wednesday, March 20, 1- 2:30 p.m. 
 
Woodcarving: This group meets on Thursdays. New members welcome. For more information, call Barbara at 843-871-7469.  Thursday, March 21, 1-3 p.m.
 
Creative Crafters: If you are interested in learning more about the creative projects, please join us on Friday for more details. The group designs and creates items from donated material. These Items are sold in the gift shop and all proceeds are used to support the services and programs at Dorchester Seniors. Friday, March 22, 1-3 p.m.
 

Youth soccer tournament

Lowcountry Soccer and the Summerville Soccer Club has extended an invitation to youth soccer teams and players between the ages of U8 - U14 to participate in the 2013 Robbie Owens Memorial Tournament on April 20-21. The tournament is dedicated to the memory of Robbie Owens who embraced the passion of soccer while first playing at the City of Charleston, Department of Recreation and then at the Summerville Soccer Club, Bridge FA and on the South Carolina United FC Development Academy team. The tournament is open to all levels of club soccer teams from South Carolina and nearby states. Each age group will offer both a Navy (I) and White (II) division depending on a team’s playing level. Flowertown Run

Late registration is still available for the 2013 Shamrock Shuffle, formerly known as the Flowertown Run. The 10K Run, 5K Run/walk, and 1 Mile Fun Run, will take place March 16 to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. The cost for late registration is $30 for the 5K/10K races and $10 for the 1 Mile Fun Run. Individuals can register for the run/walk by visiting any Summerville Family YMCA location. Packet Pickup for those already registered will be held at the Y’s downtown facility (208 West Doty Avenue) from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. March 14 and March 15. Race packets will not be available on the day of the race.
