Track athletes set new Pinewood records

 Pinewood had two double winners at the first SCISA track meet of the season. 
Maryah Nasir won the 3200-meter run easily last week in a time of 12:00 and won the 800 in 2:32.
Katie Smoak won the shot put with a school record mark of 28-feet, 3-inches and won the discus throw with a personal best 78-1 mark. She also anchored the Pinewood 4 x100 relay team.
Mason Hazel scored two second-place finishes with a school record of 10:36 in the 3200 and a 2:16 in the 800.
Isabelle Greenstreet scored points for the team with her third-place finish in the 1600 (5:57).
Ashley Wilson scored points in the shot for sixth place (23-3) and in the discus with a third-place finish (69-3).
Zach Kanlic scored points in the shot (33-4) and discus (73-9), placing sixth in both.
The Pinewood girls' team finished in fourth place and the boys' team finished in fifth place with eight teams competing. 
Also competing for Pinewood were: Jake Birdsong (1600), Michael Saeger (1600),
Kasey Grossman (1600 and 800), Abby Mandel (1600 and 800), Taylor Strickland (400 and 4 x 100), Katrina Powers (100, 400 and 4 x100), Julia Maguire (1600), Nick VanHouten (Shot and Discus) and Emma Maguire (Shot, Discus and 4x100).
