Improving homes

  • Wednesday, March 20, 2013

JIM TATUM/JOURNAL SCENE --

Summerville Mayor Bill Collins, Grant Writer Wenda Mistak, and Councilman Aaron Brown look over paperwork for a home on West Luke Street that recently received some much needed interior upgrades thanks to a special city program funded by a $161,620 federal Community Development Block Grant. The program focuses on improving homes in underserved areas of the town of Summerville. Homeowners who meet certain criteria, including financial need, current condition of the home, safety issues, people living in the home, and cost feasibility can apply.
