Hootie & The Blowfish bass guitarist Dean Felber and lead guitarist Mark Bryan were among the judges who narrowed the pool from 130 to only ten students. Chelsea is currently in third place among the ten contestants.

A winner will be chosen through voting on the Facebook page. Votes can be cast once a day until midnight March 31.
The winner, which will be announced April 1, earns the opportunity to perform live at the televised “South Carolina Teacher of the Year Celebration” on May 1 in Columbia and is also invited to perform at the opening concert for the BMW Charity Pro-Am in May.
The contest was open to students between first and 12th grades in all South Carolina public schools.

Chelsea Summers of Ashley Ridge High School is among 10 finalists in the third annual BB&T “This School’s Got Talent” competition, hosted by South Carolina Future Minds.
