The Ashley Ridge girls’ soccer team picked up two region wins this week.
On Tuesday, the Lady Swamp Foxes defeated cross-town rival Summerville 4-0.
Senior midfielder Marin McDonough scored two goals for Ashley Ridge and made an assist on the Swamp Foxes’ final goal, which was scored by Cassidy Govan. Madyson Reed also scored for Ashley Ridge.
Sophomore midfielder Amelia Clower had an assist on both of McDonough’s goals and junior Taylor Johnson had an assist on Reed’s goal.
Freshman Allyson Manns had the shutout in goal for the Foxes.
On Wednesday, Ashley Ridge defeated Colleton County 4-1 to improve to 7-2 on the season with a 4-0 mark in Region 8-AAAA.
Bluffton is the only region team Ashley Ridge hasn’t faced. The Swamp Foxes hit the road April 9 looking to complete a sweep of the first-round of region play with a win at Bluffton. They then travel to North Charleston April 12 for a rematch with Fort Dorchester.
Summerville (4-4, 1-2) plays at Fort Dorchester at 7 p.m. March 29.
