Math Madness hits the court

Provided -- The SES Adopters, business partners in the Adopt-A-Teacher program at Summerville elementary, took home the Golden Turtle trophy after Thursday night’s championship game. --

Summerville Elementary School students have been taking part in “Math Madness,” a school wide math initiative.
Each student has a personal grade level goal they are trying to obtain. Once they meet their goal, the event sponsor, Reagin Orthodontics, awards them a glow-in-the-dark basketball.
Once more than 50 percent of a class reaches its goal it receives a class basketball. The basketball is signed by the class and can be used at recess as well as for the Math Madness Tournament.
The student tournaments were held on March 27 (K-2nd) and March 28 (3rd-5th) during the school day.
The Championship Game was held the evening of March 28 between the SES Faculty and SES Adopters (business partners who have adopted Summerville Elementary) at the Rollings Middle School of the Arts gym.
The SES Adopters came away as victors and received the Golden Turtle trophy.
