A Wednesday night crash on U.S.-17A in Dorchester County claimed the lives of two and sent two others to the hospital. At about 10:05 p.m. a 1992 Honda Accord traveling south on U.S.-17A crossed the center line for reasons unknown as of press time and ran head on into a SUV Kia. The driver has been identified by Dorchester County Coroner Chris Nisbet as Sheldwin Jvon George, 41, from David Street in Walterboro. George died from head and cervical spine fractures. The passenger of the Honda has been identified as Steven Tyrone Donaldson, 45, Springwood Drive, Walterboro. He died from head and chest trauma. Both victims were pronounced dead on the scene. They were not wearing seatbelts, according to the Highway Patrol. When the Honda crossed the center line it struck an oncoming 2013 Kia being driven northbound by William Singleton, 71, who was wearing a seatbelt and was transported to the Medical University of South Carolina, according to the Highway Patrol. The Honda also struck a 1999 Toyota 4 Runner being driven by Jerry Ward, 39, who was not transported to the hospital but a passenger in his vehicle was, according to the Highway Patrol. The investigation continues.
