Swamp Foxes have mixed results against out of state teams

The Ashley Ridge baseball team went 1-2 during the Hanahan Invitational Tournament held at various sites this week.
The Swamp Foxes opened the tournament with a 4-3 loss to Cox High School of Virginia. Ashley Ridge took a three-run lead in the third inning but then Cox scored two runs off errors and two more off a homerun in the fourth inning and held on for the win.
Junior Jason Miller had some good innings on the mound and went 3 for 4 at the plate for the Swamp Foxes. Freshman Hunter Grover tallied two hits in the game.
Ashley Ridge also dropped its second game of the tournament Tuesday to Saint Rita High of Illinois but bounced back to defeat Marist of Illinois 4-3 Wednesday. James Govan had the pitching win and catcher Wesley Aschenbrenner was 2 for 3 at the plate. Miller had a double and two RBIs.
