On Saturday March 9th, the 5th annual Hawk Trot 5K Race & Kids Run was a huge success at Windsor Hill Arts Infused Elementary School. The school saw a great turnout for both the 5K and the Kids Fun Run. The winner for the 5K was Gregg Loftis and the female winner was Tina Friday. The Kids Run winners were Jacob Haas and Krysten Eakes (2nd grade and younger), and Temple Simmons and Hayley Morefield (3rd grade and higher). For the fifth year, the students had a T-shirt design contest. Jalen Evans’ artwork of a hawk crossing the finish line is featured on the T-shirts. Among the prizes awarded were beautiful Charleston scenery tiles painted by Mrs. Jodi Caruso’s 3rd grade students with assistance of her mother, a retired art teacher, Mrs. Susan Cunningham. Shown here is second grader Briana Clark registering for the race.
