Clebe McCrary set to speak
Clebe McCrary will speak during both the 9 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. services at Crossroads Community church on Sunday, April 14. Clebe is one of the most outstanding motivational and inspirational speakers in America. His message of courage, determination and dedication will compel you to soar beyond the limit, All are welcome to join in for this special time. The church is located at 505 Gahagan Road just off the Berlin G. Myers Parkway.
Clay Hill holding registration
Clay Hill Elementary School in Ridgeville will be holding registration for 4 year Pre-K and 5-year-old Kindergarten students from now through May 3. Registration will be Monday-Friday each week from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Those registering should bring proof of residency, such as utility bill or driver’s license, student’s social security card, birth certificate, immunization record, Medicaid card (if applicable), and custody/guardianship/legal document if not the student’s parent. Scottish-American Military Society

The Scottish American Military Society has formed a new Post that meets at the VFW on Bellwright Road the second Saturday of each month.
The next meeting is Saturday. If you have been in the military and are retired or active duty military of Scottish descent, then join us Saturday morning.

4-H Youth Gardening Contest Accepting Applications
SC 4-H Youth Development Programs have a new short term project for youth who are interested in gardening. The Small Garden Project will allow youth ages 5 – 19 to learn how to prepare, plant, maintain and harvest a small garden. A contest record book will also be submitted for judging. Seeds will be provided for one vegetable. Youth will choose at least 2 other vegetable crops to grow. An area of at least 100 square feet will be needed for the garden. Raised beds can be used if desired.
The registration fee of $15 for current 4-H members and $25 for non-members covers the cost of a soil sample, record book, score criterion and seed packet. Registrations will be accepted until April19. Soil samples will need to be submitted to the local County Extension office by April 26 in order to meet the May 10 planting deadline. The contest record book will be due on August 16.
Youth will be divided into three categories prior to judging: cloverbuds 5-8, juniors 9-13, and seniors 14-19. Participants will be judged and awarded according to guidelines at local, regional and state levels.
