Swamp Fox boys, Fort girls make noise at BE
The Ashley Ridge boys and Fort Dorchester girls led the way for the Dorchester County teams during this year's Father Kelly Classic track and field meet.
Wando won both the boys' and girls' meets held at Bishop England High School last Saturday. The Ashley Ridge boys placed fifth while Summerville placed sixth and Fort Dorchester eighth. In the girls meet, Fort Dorchester placed seventh while Ashley Ridge placed eighth and Summerville ninth.
Jackson Ellenburg placed third in the 1600-meter run and 3200. Pinewood's Mason Hazel placed fifth in the 1600.
Dashaun Santiago also scored multiple points for the Swamp Foxes. He placed second in the 110 hurdles and third in the 400 hurdles.
The Ashley Ridge boys' 4x800 relay team placed second while the Swamp Fox 4x100 relay team placed seventh. The Summerville 4x400 team placed fourth and the Fort Dorchester 4x800 team placed third.
Ashley Ridge jumper Geraldo Johnson placed fifth in the high jump.
Summerville's Loyless Clark placed second in the discus throw while teammate Zack Bailey placed fourth in the shot put. Summerville's William Luck placed sixth in the triple jump.
Jasmine Quinn led the Fort girls, winning the 200, 100 hurdles and long jump and placing second in the 100. Autumn Stone placed seventh in the 3200.
The Fort 4x800 relay team placed eighth.
Summerville's Alexandria Searles won the 400 while teammate Sommer Mackenzie placed fifth. Abby Bozarth placed fifth in the 3200. Sara Dixson placed fourth in the shot put and third in the discus.
The Summerville 4x800 team placed fourth.
Ashley Ridge's Sophie Belhassen placed third in the 3200. Breena Swartz placed fourth in the high jump. Madison Salam placed fifth in the pole vault and fourth in the triple jump. Imagine Patterson placed eighth in the 200.
The Lady Swamp Fox 4x100 team placed third while the AR 4x800 team placed sixth.
Pinewood's Maryah Nasir won the 1600. Isabelle Greenstreet placed fourth in the 3200. Katie Smoak placed fifth in the shot put.
