Miler was sound on the greens April 7 as it won the fifth match of the Charleston Area Men’s Interclub Golf Association on its home course.
The greens created problems for a lot of the visitors but not for the home team, which won the day with 25 points. Wescott placed second with 21 points and Shadowmoss third with 9. Trailing were Coosaw Creek (6), Dunes West (5), Legend Oaks (2), Rivertowne (0), Pine Forest (-2), Charleston National (-12), Charleston Municipal (-15), Berkeley and Crowfield (-16) and Stono Ferry (-20).
Individual honors went to Bob Sideikas, who placed first with 12 points. Herb Whetsell of Charleston National was second with 11 points and Ray Dennis of Rivertowne was third with 9. Full results can be found on chsinterclub.org.
Pine Forest and Coosaw Creek now lead the season point standings with 49.5 points each. Close behind is Shadowmoss with 46 points. Trailing are Wescott (41.5), Charleston National (37), Miler (37), Crowfield (36.5), Rivertowne (34), Dunes West (33.5), Charleston Municipal (33), Legend Oaks (27.5), Stono Ferry (24) and Berkeley (16).
The next match is scheduled for 9 a.m. May 6 at Coosaw Creek.
