File -- James Reeves has pitched 29 innings for the Bulldogs this season. --

Athletes with Dorchester County ties are seeing playing time with The Citadel baseball team this season.
Graduate student Brett Bullard, a former Fort Dorchester and Northwood Academy athlete, is seeing action with the Bulldogs after transferring from Claflin University where he was a three-year standout on the baseball team. This is Bullard’s final season of NCAA athletic eligibility.
Bullard has been used as an outfielder and designated hitter, seeing action in 23 of The Citadel’s 34 games. He started eight of them.
He finished those games with a .237 batting average, nine hits, nine runs scored and four RBIs. His on-base percentage for that stretch is .341 and he stole three bases.
Pitcher James Reeves, an Ashley Ridge High School graduate, has made an appearance in 10 games including five that he started. His ERA for his first 29 innings of the season is 4.03. In the first half of the season, the sophomore struck out 22 batters while only yielding seven bases on balls. His 2.30 ERA in conference games is the second best for his team in the category.
Fellow former Swamp Fox Austin Livingston made eight appearances on the mound for the Bulldogs during the first half of the season. That includes five starts.
His ERA during the stretch is 5.57. In 21 innings the freshman fanned 15 batters while yielding 14 bases on balls.
Reeves finished the stretch with a 1-1 pitching record while Livingston finished with a 2-0 pitching record.
Summerville High School graduate Stephen Windham was expecting to red shirt his freshman season with the Bulldogs, but his services as a catcher were needed due to injuries at his position.
Windham only played in one game in the first half of the season but he did start. He only had two turns at bat and didn’t make any noise, but he did finish the game with no fielding errors.
