NCPD officer charged with DUI

A woman who was hired to enforce the law was caught breaking it early Monday morning on McMakin Road near Jedburg. Christina Mask, 29, an off-duty North Charleston Police Department officer was driving her fully-marked 2011 Ford Crown Victoria at about 1 a.m. when the vehicle ran off the roadway and struck a driveway culvert, according to information released by S.C. Highway Patrol Sgt. Bob Beres. Mask was charged with driving under the influence and open container, according to Beres. She was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured during the incident. Mask was booked into the Dorchester County Detention Center in Summerville.
